Millions of voters are being disenfranchised and turned away. For some this is their first time voting. For others this may be their last time ever voting.
A Democratic society should pride itself on the ability to vote, not on it’s ability to suppress votes.
We are calling on you to create a Voters Bill of Rights that all states must uphold.
Items that should be in the Voters Bill of Rights should include:
Everyone should be allowed to vote in Primaries and General Elections regardless of party affiliation.
Election day should be a national holiday and every voter should be guaranteed to have enough time off that they can go vote, without worry of being fired if voting takes longer than expected.
All elections should be extended by one day if any polling place experiences lines in excess of two hours.
Allow early voting in every state where polls open 30 days before the election, but allow voters the right to change their vote if they change their opinion up until the last day before the election.
Make automatic universal voter registration at age 18 for everyone.
We the people hold that the right to vote is the most pivotal right that holds this Democracy together. To suppress that right should be a treasonous offense punishable by exile and deportation and revocation of citizenship.
